Snitch Movie Review

Snitch Movie Review

As most of you know Oz the Great and Powerful came out today. Instead of seeing that like a sane person, I saw Snitch because it was the best thing playing. This is the live action Brave except father son and drug dealers. Dwayne Johnson plays a father who's son gets arrested for alleged drug distribution. His friends sends him a package with lots of drugs and he excepts. The son gets caught and goes to prison. Dwayne Johnson now makes an offer to help catch drug dealers in order to help his son reduce his ten year sentence.
Now going into this film I was nervous about it being to predictable. It didn't have a really big plot twist but the action was good and the story was consistent. The director really made this film full of suspense because the situations are the usual but the character actually gets hit and shot a few times which makes it more realistic.
One actor from this film that I see having a future in action films is John Bernthal. He plays the ex con who helps Dwayne Johnson's character. His fight scenes were intense and he carried himself like he was Jason Bourne. His emotion was great you could see the love for his child and wife and the passion that drove his character. I wouldn't be surprised seeing him as another one of the Bourne series program.
In conclusion, Snitch is overall a good time. This film is suspenseful and has lots of great action scenes. I am giving it a 7 out of ten. The only thing this film lacks is a big plot twist. Dwayne Johnson dying would have been really unexpected. They capture the bad guys but the hero dies. It would send the message of what a parent is willing to do for their child. If you can't catch Snitch in theaters then wait for red box. Its worth seeing because its suspenseful and has some heartwarming moments.

Lincoln Movie Review

They only words that can describe this film is breathtaking. The new Steven Speilberg film about one of our beloved Presidents. When I first got wind of this film being made I might have jumped for joy.The expectations I set for this film in my mind were that of Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit ; needless to say I was extremely excited for this movie.  I saw Lincoln on Christmas eve with my family and what a stupendous time.

Everyone who calls them self and American knows about the Civil War and the lasting effect if has had on the United States. This film tells the story from the eyes of the man in charge. We see the struggles that Abraham Lincoln had to go through to get his bill passed and the men that helped him accomplish the passage of the bill. One aspect of this movie opened a few eyes to inside the life of Lincoln. We see the struggles the President and the first lady have after the loss of one of their sons. I loved everything about the presentation of the civil war in this film.

In addition the actors in this film were outstanding. Daniel Day Lewis portrays Abraham Lincoln in this movie and wow he nails it. After seeing this film I am personally cheering for him to win the Oscar for best Actor this year. The make up and Special effects team really make him look like Lincoln which I didn't think could be possible. Another notable actor in this film is Tommy Lee Jones. His performance brings a new hero to this story. He plays a crucial part to the passage of Lincolns bill. He is know for being emotionless but with this character it actually works and adds some funny moments to the movie.

In conclusion, Lincoln is one of must see movies of the year. Steven Speilberg made a movie that will stand the test of time. I had the choice of seeing this or Russel Crowe and Wolverine singing. I think I made the wise choice. Lincoln gets an 8 out of 10 in my book. I'm not really sure why not ten but eight is good enough for you to go out and see this movie now. Doesn't matter what the occasion this film would be good for anything. So go see Lincoln now the sooner the better.

By the way Daniel day Lewis won the Oscar! Take that Les Miserable! I dreamed a dream of you loosing.

Trouble with the Curve Movie Review

Trouble with the Curve Movie Review

Doesn't it seem like Clint Eastwood has been making movies for hundreds of years? Trouble with the curve is a movie about a father who is a baseball scout and his daughter that is a lawyer. The premise of the movie is about their relationship and the two of them growing closer through baseball. Clint Eastwood is they only reason I saw this film. The last film from him I saw was Gran Torino and I remember loving it. In addition I enjoyed all of the actors in this film and feel they were perfectly chosen. Clint Eastwood is very good in this film as he does his usual tough guy role. He actually has comedic timing in moments that are meant to be serious that makes this film even better. Amy Adams also performs very well in this film. She played Clint Eastwood's daughter and her emotion she brought was something I wasn't used to seeing from her. That is considering that I've only seen her in the Muppet's film which wasn't that serious of a role. Generally most films about baseball are good and this one is no exception. The overall story is really great and emotion. Showing how baseball brought a daughter closer to her father and gave them things they had in common. This story also shows how some of the old ways of doing things are better than the way computers do it. One line from the film that really sticks with you is "A computer can't tell you what a kids got" it just hits you in a place that is indescribable. In conclusion Trouble with the Curve is an moving story. Some people I've heard from said it was a bit predictable. I agree with this but one really important part of the film had me shocked. I'm giving this film a 6 out of 10. Clint Eastwood gives it eight points automatically but Justin Timberlake brings it down two points sadly. This film would be good for a rainy day or a late night that TV sucks like a Sunday night or Saturday night. I would recommend this film to anyone but its not really for everyone because if you can't understand the message being portrayed then you probably won't enjoy it.

Brave Movie Review

Brave Movie Review

Brave was the first Pixar movie I have seen in years the last being Toy Story 3. Brave is about a young princess named Marida who doesn't want to be a princess but wants to be herself. Because of this she has a fight with her mother who wants her to get married and become a princess like her. The first thing we all think is what kind of name is Marida? I know its not a normal Disney name like Belle or Ariel and she is the second red head that Disney has had. I can imagine the artist sitting in a room thinking what is this girl going to look like? Lets see she fires arrows, rides a horse and has a quick temper, red head she has to be a red head. In addition the voice acting in this film was done extremely well. Pixar always picks the best people for the job and this is apparent in this film. Everyone has an authentic Scottish accent, assuming that the characters are Scottish. Billy Connolly does the voice of Marida's father Fergus and he does a really good Job in this film. Their is one part part where he has to sing and not saying he can sing but it sounded okay. All of these actors did really impressive jobs because you can hear the emotion in the voices of the characters they are portraying. Also probably the most important thing in any animated movie is how it looks and Brave looks really impressive. From the mountains to the trees and the water Brave is extremely well drawn. Just a quick Idea for Disney a brave roller coaster would be awesome just saying. In conclusion Pixar does it again. They never fail to impress me with their artistry and their ability to tell a story that is entertaining and family friendly. Finding a movie that is entertaining for all ages is really hard to do but Pixar seems to have that combination every time. I'm giving Brave a 7 out of 10 because it has a good story about a  mother and daughter learning to understand each other and presents some action and comedy for all to enjoy . If your wondering what to watch on a Friday night and have mixed ages of children or your an adult and can't pick one. Then why not give Brave a try.

Friday night Movie #8 Pitch Perfect

Pitch Perfect Poster
Pitch Perfect Movie Review

What happens when a wanna be DJ that doesn't really know how to make friends joins an all female singing group? Well, lots of old and new songs we all know may or may not love are sung by people we don't know. Their are two characters I liked in this film the first was the main character Bella and the second Fat Amy. Bella had this personality that I mostly see from male characters. That personality is the girl, guy who doesn't really care about any body and is too cool for anything but what they are passionate for.Bella was played by Anna Kendrick who did a really good job. The character she was portraying worked extremely well. Now, Fat Amy was probably my favorite character because she had these witty remarks that I always enjoy from people, sarcasm is always funny. Fat Amy was played by Rebel Wilson who I am interested seeing more of in the future. Her comedic timing was really good and she has this Chris Farley confidence about her that makes her fun to watch. The music in this film was well done and the song battles that they had were better than the competitions. I found my self enjoying this one portion of the film where all of the groups on campus are having one big duel. My favorite song was "Bruno Mars Just the way you are" it was done perfectly. This song was also a turning point because all of the girls became a team after this moment and not to mention sounded fantastic. In conclusion Pitch Perfect is probably the best film I've seen that was about singing groups. It is miles above Joyful noise ,which was dolly trying to regain her youth and rip off the massive mask. After watching this film you will get some of the songs stuck in your head and they probably won't leave. I am giving Pitch Perfect a 7 out of 10. The jokes work and the sounds are outstanding. If you don't know what to watch on a Friday night like I did give this film a try. You won't regret it.

This Means War movie review

 This Means War movie review

Let me begin by saving I only watched this movie because their wasn't anything else on at the moment. This Means War is about two spies who meet the same girl and make a bet of who can get her to love them first. At a glance this appears to be one of those romantic movies that attempts to gain male view. It sadly fails at this like every other romance. This film has a great cast with Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon. So basically Bane and Captain Kirk are fighting for Ell Woods heart. Chris Pine was good in this film not up to star trek good but still good. His action scenes were entertaining and his sarcasm was enjoyable for a while but eventually seemed like whining. Tom Hardy was okay in this movie seemed like he was trying to be James Bond but at the same time trying to be funny. He honestly should have just reprised his role from Inception because that's the character that I was looking for the entire time. Just stick to being Gotham's reckoning Tom Hardy. Reese Witherspoon as usual was good its understandable why two spies would fight over her. She was playing an independent woman which was a first for her. Normally she plays either the dumb blonde or the scared girl. he connection with both male actors was good but her scenes with Tom Hardy seemed like she was scared almost. Maybe she had just seen Batman and feared him just as much as Anne Hathaway. Its almost like ew I'm kissing Bane get Kirk back here now. In addition the action scenes in this film were surprising good normally they are cheesy but the were decent. They were incredibly intense but in one scene Tom Hardy has a Rambo moment playing paintball. In conclusion this means war is a good movie better than this critic expected. I'm going to give it a 6 out of 10 only because its a romance and most romances are highly predictable which this film is. The action is decent and the acting is sub par but over all a good movie for a rainy day. I wouldn't buy it but maybe red box for a dollar.

The Fugitive Movie Review

The Fugitive Poster

The Fugitive movie review.
This movie is kind of old but is a must see for anyone. Harrison Ford on in anything is usually greatness waiting to happen. In this film he plays a doctor who is accused of his wife's murder, and after being arrested he escapes because the transport bus taking him crashes. Now he is on the run as a fugitive hints the title. This film stars Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. I loved both of them in this film their chemistry was great. Tommy Lee Jones plays the US Marshal in this film who in charge of capturing the escaped prisoners. He really plays an officer nicely because he is usually better in more serious roles. One line in the movie where Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford have a stare down. Harrison tells him he didn't murder his wife and Tommy Lee Jones answers I don't Care. In typical Tommy Lee Jones fashion you could tell by the expression on his face that he truly didn't care. Harrison Ford in this film was almost Han Solo again. A fugitive on the run, minus chewbacca of course. Along with a good pair of leading actors this film is also action packed. it seems like even the site of Harrison Ford moving papers is exciting. "looks and looks and then bites burger" even scenes like this would be exciting. This film draws you in from beginning to end and has your heart racing and skipping a few beats. In conclusion the Fugitive is one of my favorite Harrison Ford films. it gives you everything from a drama to an action to even a mystery. If you were to give him a black mask with ears he could be Batman at the end of the Dark Knight running from the police. Honestly their isn't much that could make this film better. I'm glad they didn't ruin all of this action with some pointless love interest like they usually do. So the Fugitive gets a 8 out of 10 in my book. This is one old film that is going on my must get DVD or blu ray list. next time your out look for the fugitive it gives you everything you want it will not disappoint.
