Brave Movie Review

Brave Movie Review

Brave was the first Pixar movie I have seen in years the last being Toy Story 3. Brave is about a young princess named Marida who doesn't want to be a princess but wants to be herself. Because of this she has a fight with her mother who wants her to get married and become a princess like her. The first thing we all think is what kind of name is Marida? I know its not a normal Disney name like Belle or Ariel and she is the second red head that Disney has had. I can imagine the artist sitting in a room thinking what is this girl going to look like? Lets see she fires arrows, rides a horse and has a quick temper, red head she has to be a red head. In addition the voice acting in this film was done extremely well. Pixar always picks the best people for the job and this is apparent in this film. Everyone has an authentic Scottish accent, assuming that the characters are Scottish. Billy Connolly does the voice of Marida's father Fergus and he does a really good Job in this film. Their is one part part where he has to sing and not saying he can sing but it sounded okay. All of these actors did really impressive jobs because you can hear the emotion in the voices of the characters they are portraying. Also probably the most important thing in any animated movie is how it looks and Brave looks really impressive. From the mountains to the trees and the water Brave is extremely well drawn. Just a quick Idea for Disney a brave roller coaster would be awesome just saying. In conclusion Pixar does it again. They never fail to impress me with their artistry and their ability to tell a story that is entertaining and family friendly. Finding a movie that is entertaining for all ages is really hard to do but Pixar seems to have that combination every time. I'm giving Brave a 7 out of 10 because it has a good story about a  mother and daughter learning to understand each other and presents some action and comedy for all to enjoy . If your wondering what to watch on a Friday night and have mixed ages of children or your an adult and can't pick one. Then why not give Brave a try.
