Friday Night Movies #6 Wrath of the Titans

Wrath of the Titans Movie Review

After the previous film Clash of the Titan's lack of success most were unsure if a sequel would be made. When I first saw the previews for this film, I was in awe it look action packed. Let me be the first to say Wrath of the Titans is one fight after another. Within the first few minutes we see our hero in a huge battle and a few minutes later we see the gods in a huge battle. Also the fight scenes in this movie are all choreographed very they look very realistic. Even the fights with the CGI creatures look and feel real. In addition the actors in this movie were descent; I really didn't get to emotionally attached to anyone. Sam Worthington did an okay job in this film. He plays Perseus the son of Zeus a demigod. Honestly he was better than he was in the previous film but not quite as good as he was in Man on a Ledge or Avatar. I understand that its not his fault due to crappy writing. He is a great actor but the way i view it you could have one of the funniest men like Robin Williams in a movie but if the writing and jokes stink the actor can't do anything about it. Frankly this movie has an amazing cast Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes all of these men are well know actors. Honestly this poor story line inhibits their abilities to make an instant classic. One thing I did enjoy about this movie was the main plot. This doesn't relate the the characters dialogue which I hated. But the idea that all the Gods are dying and a super titan is going to destroy the world is insane. That right their makes an instant summer block buster. In conclusion Wrath of the Titans is a descent movie not a great movie but okay. Defiantly worth a rent at least once it would be a great rainy day movie. With not stop action and a list full of great actors they only way this could go bad is that the dialogue is poorly written. Wrath of the Titans gets a 7 out of 10. If this film had the dialogue of Gladiator or of Taken it could be great. Perhaps every movie doesn't get to be like Ben Hur and have everything. For those of you who don't know what Ben Hur is its probably the greatest film ever. So Sam Worthington just focus on the next avatar.
